sights to see
i’m wearing my favorite sweater in the photo below, which was the first collectible that i ever wrote about for this newsletter.
Charli xcx’s stylist Chris Horan explains the fashion of the BRAT era:
i’ve been developing a section of my wardrobe to be mainly white and black with different textures, shapes, and patterns. the style ethos embraced during the BRAT era reflects this and the type of grungy, edgy sexiness i want to adopt. also, he mentioned that this was a free-the-nip era and i live for a no-bra moment.
Janet Jackson will be another one of my inspirations for this personal style era. the pair makes sense for my Leo Sun and Taurus Moon. now who will be my inspiration for my rising or Venus signs?
speaking of: Janet Goes Sneaker Shopping with Complex
i love how her style often prioritizes comfort and functionality (because, same).
Mavi’s newest album shadowbox is pretty phenomenal, as is this interview he did with Tone Glow.
Tinashe shares her makeup routine with Vogue
Ravyn Lenae discusses her newest album, Bird’s Eye, with Rolling Stone
Dress My Tour
Zack Fox’s Boiler Room set
talk about a Renaissance man!
i get money, i’m a star!

august aura: the playlist
the notes: trying new things, mindfulness, dreaming, moonlight, watermelon, paradoxes, accepting what is, refusing what isn’t meant to be, shedding, experiments, The Fool, licorice.
(august aura: the playlist on Apple Music)
is anyone else up for the challenge of listening to all 26 KGLW albums next year? they will probably have released three more projects by then.
i mentioned back in 2022 that i still have a handful of MISSBEHAVE magazines. this was when i originally discussed indie sleaze (a term that some folks are taking way too seriously). if you were around back then, you know exactly what the term is referring to, even if it’s being applied retroactively. it’s kind of antithetical to the ironic hipsterdom of it all to be up in arms about it.
How was it seeing Unknown Mortal Orchestra live?
Also I so badly wish I could've seen Frank Ocean live atleast once. I feel like he's never performing live again (atleast not with a large crowd) after coachella
