welcome to things i collected.
things i collected is an ongoing digital archive from the perspective of Shanté Honeycutt (she/they), a multidimensional writer, digital curator, and mystic. you may also call me Tay.
this space is the culmination of all my varied interests, including but not limited to: style, music, art, wellness, Afrofuturism, queer theory, subcultures, plant-based food, home remedies, crystals, tarot (you get the point). the main premise is that i’ve collected so many items (and memories of these items), and as i continue my journey of accumulating less, i want to unpack the significance of the things i’ve held onto. i also just want to share my deep-seated love of music with you.

a preview of my work
currently, this newsletter comprises a few recurring series and themes, such as:
a featured collectible item (or two) each month
(some past examples: a vinyl, a band tee, a treasured vintage sweater, a book, etc.) often, the music-related collectibles will coincide with an anniversary or an artist’s birthday.
the alliterative series, a monthly playlist feature with a song for each day of that particular month.
within this feature, i share all of the music i’ve listened to within the month, with a partial focus on new releases. i still use last.fm faithfully, and this series is the proof.
i also provide sensory associations for each playlist, similar to olfactory notes.
eclectic video playlists
recollections, where a guest writer shares some of their treasured possessions.
my favorite song and album lists at the end of the year, plus a mid-year review.
the deep cuts series (paid subscribers only!)
exclusive early access to upcoming ideas and projects
collective readings
a filmless score.

thanks for finding my space on the web. if something resonates, please tell a friend, share the content, and subscribe.
note: the images of collectibles on this site are taken by me. the thumbnails include some of my original photography and scans, but the majority of them are auto-generated from Spotify via the featured streaming music, unless noted otherwise.
