hello? is it me you’re looking for?
this month was for catching up on certain priorities and further embracing the pivot — i typically plan out my monthly collectible feature in advance, but a lack of resonance prompted me to switch subjects. here’s the album i wrote about in case you missed it:
Wildewoman
this month’s collectible of choice is Wildewoman by Lucius, which celebrated its 11th anniversary this week on 10/15. the band’s second album originally received stellar reviews for harkening back to 1960s girl groups and integrating various genres into their sound in a refreshing, modern way. it’s pop, it’s folk, it’s twee — twanging and sanging reign supreme here.
i won’t even pretend like i have a lot of words for you today. i approached my keyboard with many ideas swirling in my mind, but concrete plans evaded me. so i hope you enjoy all the music instead!

divining with the digital
there’s no singular correct way to listen to music, in my opinion. as seen here on things i collected, i value various listening formats because they offer different experiences of hearing recorded music. a crisp and clear sound can be just as endearing as one with fuzz, static, and clicks if you set your expectations right.

the notes: play this one on shuffle and see what message you get 🔮

this album (and specifically the song “Orange Lampshade”) will not be releasing its grip on me anytime soon. at just 22 minutes, it’s a short but sweet listen that made its way onto my favorites list and into my heart.
i saw her open for Nilüfer Yanya’s tour and i was so captivated during the entire performance.
I need to go check out Jaco Jaco after hearing that clip.
