I think my favorite Gorillaz track is “Superfast Jellyfish”. The beat is too clean and De La Soul rhyming over them is just as crisp. But this is there best body of work. No skips!!

no skips indeed!! i need to spend more time with Plastic Beach. i keep getting signs from the universe, so thank you for sharing your fave. i also like how Gorillaz has continued the De La Soul collabs over decades now!

as an ancient millennial, it's actually their debut album that's the most nostalgic for me (it's completely wrapped up in my memories of college orientation). all the more insane that the follow-up is 20 years old.

the debut has many gems on it as well!! “Slow Country” is now playing in my mind as we speak.

One of my all time favourite albums, even though I spent a lot of the last 20 years not listening to it at all. It was only when I revisited it in full last year as an older listener that I really appreciated how great it is. The lyricism, the orchestration, and, like you say, the guest appearances make it a very unique record that only Gorillaz could make.

i agree that i have gotten more appreciation out of the album as an older listener. and your comment really hones in on the aspects of the album that make it a masterpiece in my eyes.
