i recently started a Starz trial on Apple TV just so i could watch Blindspotting, the series based on Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal’s 2018 movie of the same name. i honestly have not watched the film yet, but the show is a sequel that stands up well on its own in many ways. here’s the trailer:
from there, i started and finished Run the World in just a few hours…it’s giving modern-day Living Single — very fitting since Yvette Lee Bowser is one of the executive producers. i like the plots and the banter between characters, but i’m mainly here for the costume design, courtesy of Patricia Field.
i also recently watched Physical on Apple TV, starring Rose Byrne as a 1980s recovering hippie housewife turned aerobics instructor who can’t seem outrun some of her old, destructive habits and behaviors — for that reason, much of the dialogue is her own inner critic. major TW for eating disorders.

this weekend, i’ll be revisiting some music anniversaries that have occurred this month for a post i’m compiling for next week. but i’ll also be playing this new Jungle album again and again and again.
