leo season is finally here! time to act like the main character you know you came here to be. ruled by the Sun (it’s also my sun sign), leos are not afraid to shine. you can typically identify a leo by the hair — even if it’s not a voluminous lion’s mane, the hair will be making a major statement. the next giveaway is the flash - be it in the way we dress or the pics being snapped because one thing leo placements gonna do is make sure that you get our good side (which is all of them 😉).
as this sign rules the heart (and the spine), leos tend to be fairly generous and love hard. speaking as a leo sun, i think a lot of the common talking points about this sign are misunderstood or over-inflated.
for instance, i’ve encountered quite a few leos (including myself) who don’t always want to be the center of attention and would rather be left alone - standing out and seeking attention are two different things. but also, there’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting attention, we ALL desire to be truly seen or heard by somebody in some way, just maybe not by everybody at once.
now, it is pretty common that we are very theatrical and animated, but it’s not always as chaotic as it’s portrayed. anyway, i did a mini photoshoot to accompany today’s playlist. i tested out the “bleached brow” look using two shades of concealer and it really felt like right kind of dramatic makeup to match leo’s energy.
something about wearing this dress off the shoulder also reminded of those choir recital dresses (iykyk), hence why i’m posing like i’m going to some kinda formal. give leos a theme (or better yet, let us pick it) and we will absolutely understand the assignment.
a few of my favorite leos include Steak (aka Rachael Finley), Angela Bassett, Zolee Griggs, Rowi Singh, Kimberly Drew, Whitney Houston, Dizzy Fae, and KeiyaA. all of the above folks have endless talent, style, and flair — an admirable bunch.
below you’ll find the leo playlist! it’s really a letter to (and about) me, so the mood is a little more introspective and slightly melancholic — i’ve been told my taste is kinda sleepy/sad girl music. i think it’s more that i’m perpetually tuned to a psychedelic rock/hypnagogic pop/shoegaze frequency. what can i say? i like heady, contemplative ish. but if you’ve followed this journey long enough, there’s plenty of variety even within that.
