an ode to duality and fluidity
i love Geminis. both of my siblings were born in June so i understand this sign pretty well. i have never understood the slander, but i’m also someone who hopes that by this point, many people understand that each of us has all of the signs represented within our birth charts.
so when people misinterpret or put down the spontaneous, moody, free-spirited, social, diplomatic Gemini, i personally think it’s a dismissal and refusal to accept those same attributes within oneself.
or what it really is: people don’t like how they refuse to play by the rules (because they can be elusive AF), yet they also love this rebellious nature when it benefits them (i.e. artistically). some of the greatest, most talented non-conformist beings of our lifetime have been Geminis: Prince, Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill, Stevie Nicks. Miles Davis, Nikki Giovanni, Patti LaBelle, Curtis Mayfield, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Maxwell, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, *that infamous Chicago rapper and producer i used to love and will not name but you know who it is…shall i go on?
in honor of all the Geminis i’ve known and loved, i present the playlist that honors their duality — it takes into account both their sunny disposition and their RBF, as well as their hippie side and their suit-and-tie. i’ve added specific songs as Easter eggs to the Geminis in my life and you know who you are. enjoy!
